Highlights of December 2015

It seems as if December flew by.  However, when I look at the following pictures, I realize that it was full of wonderful people and events.  My pictures to follow are not in order but all so important to me.

I had fun taking pictures of the decorations and including myself!

The living room looked so pretty as we shared our Christmas time with Lindsay and Josh.

Robert and John's stockings were packed and ready to go to Oklahoma for Christmas 2.

Candles at entrance of the house

I always enjoy decorating the banister.

This was my only outside decoration this year but it was lovely.

This bow has lights but the battery kept falling out!

Christmas dinner with John and Lindsay before we left for Oklahoma the next day.

This is my grandcat, Vicky Vale.

My best present ever:  Spending time with Robert, Mandy and John in OKC.

There are no words to express how much I love these guys.

The beautiful tree at Robert and Mandy's filled with gifts beneath it.

The week before Christmas I was invited to read to the second graders in Lorraine Lopez' class.

This was so much fun for me.

This little guy is reading The Secret Place before they start to write.

This picture makes me so proud of her teacher.

He didn't even notice I was there. :)

Music was playing, lights were low, and writing was taking place.

This little angel says she is coming to UNT!

He wanted me to see all three of his pieces.

My former UNT student teacher listening to what her young writers have to say.
This is my girl, Sara, as we posed at The Posh Place in Grapevine.

John played with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra during the holidays.

This is my little friend, Rhett, with her favorite gift from me - Goldfish!

This is a framed picture of my mother that I took to church with me to put on the piano when I played the Sunday before Christmas.

Betty and I had a great time exchanging gifts.  She is 89 years young and I love her dearly.

Vicky Vale peeking out from under the box as I wrapped presents.

Christmas morning in OKC.  Looks like Santa has been here!

I had to let you know "where my feet were" while I was in OKC.

While we opened presents, Salome got to join us via Skype!  She was at home in Zurich.  We also got to say hello to her parents and see some of the beautiful art in their home.

Robert

Robert loved his Gameboy from Lindsay and Josh.

Vicky Vale liked Ron's ring toss game.

My favorite gifts because I am going to Disney World for a week on January 5th!

Robert, John and Ron went to watch the Thunder play on Christmas Day.

Mandy loved her shawl from Lindsay and Josh.

Bruce Wayne and Vicky Vale were exhausted after their big day.

The official placement of the star on our tree at home.  John has been traditionally doing this since his daddy once had to lift him up to reach it.

What a Great Day To Be a Teacher! Coppell Pups Graduation Day

I have had the sheer honor of teaching pre-service teachers since 2009.  I am still in touch with many of them who have become wonderful teachers.  It is always bittersweet to see them graduate after having had them in class or have supervised them.

Yesterday my pups from Coppell Cadre graduated.  This was another exceptional group of teachers who were a joy to teach and to know.  It was a very exciting day for all of us.  I am including pictures of them and you will be able to see the look on their beautiful faces! They are ready to change the world and I am one proud UNT instructor!
